What counts as an API call?
Every request to any CartoChrome API endpoint counts as one call. Cached responses (served from CDN) do not count against your limit.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. Your monthly counter resets on your plan anniversary.
What happens when I hit my monthly limit?
You will receive a 429 status code with a JSON error message indicating when your limit resets. Upgrade your plan or wait for the next billing period.
Do you offer annual billing?
Public self-serve checkout is monthly today. Annual or prepaid terms require a signed enterprise agreement so billing and entitlements stay auditable.
Is there a free trial for paid plans?
Every account starts on the Free tier. The current monthly limit is published from the dynamic plan registry so the pricing page, API docs, billing, and widget limits stay in sync.
How do I authenticate my API calls?
Include your API key in the Authorization header: "Authorization: Bearer cc_YOUR_KEY". Query-string API keys are not accepted because they can leak into logs and browser history.
